Ibiza: PrivilegeMonday, October 22nd, 2012
Leave it to the self-proclaimed party capital of the world to also play host to the biggest nightclub on the planet. Somehow, we’re not surprised.
Located in San Rafael on the small but “lively” (to say the least) island of Ibiza, Privilege currently holds the title of “World’s Largest Nightclub”, an honor originally bestowed upon it by the ever-enthusiastic researchers over at the Guinness Book of World Records. With a maximum capacity of 10,000 patrons who can rave about freely within the venue’s expansive 30,000 square foot space, Privilege is renowned for its high octane shows by world-class DJs who spin live whilst suspended above crowds of thousands (and perhaps those racy sex shows that were banned back in the late ‘90s, but that is really neither here nor there).
Replete with over a dozen bars, an indoor swimming pool, and a central dance floor the size of an aircraft hangar, Privilege Ibiza is so massive that it’s essentially the Aretha Franklin of all nightclubs, albeit a little less judgmental and at least 100 times more attractive. In fact, the club is so vast that its owners recommend coming back on more than one occasion just to see everything that the venue has to offer, especially since they constantly play with its visage and alter the decorations nearly every evening.
Although Privilege recently closed its doors several weeks ago to mark the end of a successful 2012 season, it’s never too early to begin planning a trip for next year. With artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Steve Aoki, and Sebastian Ingrosso just casually rolling through on a consistent basis, that’s as good an indicator as any to book your table service, far, far in advance unless you want to find yourself hating from the outside because you literally can’t get in.
