Los Angeles: Mohawk Bend
Mohawk Bend is fairly new to the Echo Park nightlife scene in Los Angeles. This venue use to be the old Vaudeville Theater on Sunset Blvd and has reopened as a modern bar/restaurant of brick and steel. It now features an extensive list of beers from California brewers and performances by live jazz bands. Even though there is no dress code, you will still find LA’s best-dressed Eastsiders and urban professionals at this gastropub.
It still looks like a restaurant from the outside but once you step in you can experience a romantic or casual outing at either one of the four uniquely designed eating and lounging spaces. The Patio is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset with fresh air seating. The Quad section is located inside underneath the cathedral ceiling and has a view of the open kitchen and bar. The Pub is right in the middle of all the action with bar stool seating. Lastly, The Ramona Room, which was named after the original Vaudeville Theater, is the dining room.
Of course we couldn’t send you to a bar without recommending a drink! Next time you are in LA stop by Mohawk Bend and order the Pear Vodka cocktail that has an excellent balance of sweet and spicy.
