“Where the Beautiful People Go to Get Ugly”
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting our nation’s capital and also have a slight pension for a good party, we are 99.99% sure that you’ve heard of Adam’s Morgan. Home to some of DC’s most infamous bars and trendy nightclubs, it is in Adam’s Morgan that you will also find one of the city’s most notorious and well-known spots: Madam’s Organ.
With a tagline like “Where the beautiful people go to get ugly,” Madam’s Organ is irresistible upon entry. Although it may seem to give off a pretty relaxed vibe at first glance, acting as a blues bar during most weekdays that serves deliciously cooked soulfood, this place is anything but chill on a Saturday night. Once the lights go down and the crowds begin to pour in, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any tame behavior going on in here.
Famous for its eclectic style, Madam’s Organ offers a little something for everyone. Filled with mounds of artwork by local artists interspersed with antiques here and there, this bar/club boasts multiple floors that showcase everything from live bands, to a sizeable dance floor blaring hip-hop and top 40s, to even a rooftop deck that overlooks the entirety of Adam’s Morgan itself.
So, the next time you’re wandering around the neighborhood, definitely be sure to hit up Madam’s Organ. It shouldn’t be too hard to find—just look out for the old brick building plastered with the mural of a giant, topless, redheaded chick.
